San Antonio-Lackland, a joint base of the US armed forces, located in Texas went into a lockdown after gunshots were reported near one of the entrances to the military facility on Wednesday.

The alleged gunshots are currently under follow-up investigations by the authorities, who reportedly have a few leads, according to reports from CNN quoting Lt. Col. Brian Loveless, the commander of a squadron present at the site.

However, the base has reopened and resumed its operations the same day after preliminary investigations.

A follow-up announcement made on the military facility‘s social media handles cleared up that no injuries have been reported so far and further said that the emergency responders present at the site were searching for the suspect along with the San Antonio Police Department.

The military facility is the largest joint base held by the Pentagon, reported CNN quoting the official website of the Joint Base San Antonio.
