Audrey Hale’s friend Averianna Patton’s 911 call before Nashville school shooting pleads police to check on shooter
- Averianna Patton, who was a close friend of Audrey Hale, had called the police before the deadly mass shooting unfolded
- Audio of the 911 call was released Thursday
- In the call Patton could be heard telling the dispatcher Hale sent her several ominous messages on social media
“One day this will make more sense. I’ve left behind more than enough evidence behind. But something bad is about to happen,” Hale added, indicating to their friend that something bad was about to happen that day.
The messages were sent to Patton at 9:57 a.m. and Hale shot 6 people around 10:30 a.m. They killed 3 children, aged 9 and three staff members aged above 60.

In her 911 call, Patton said, “I’m just trying to see if anybody can help. I just don’t it on my conscience. If somebody can go and check on her the only thing I have is her Instagram. Can I give you her Instagram so y’all can find her or track her that way?” However, Patton was told by the authorities that without an address there was not much that the officers can do, except follow up on the report.
Metropolitan Nashville Police has confirmed after the release of the 911 audio on Thursday that at the time of the call, the police were already arriving at the Covenant School, responding to reports of a shooter.
Averianna Patton is a former basketball teammate of Hale from middle school. They were also Instagram friends and used to DM each other frequently. Hale called Pattoin the “most beautiful person” which was why they chose her to disclose their mental condition.
