Big Play Entertainment Center off Gallatin Pike in Hendersonville damaged amid tornado| Watch Video

Meaghan Thomas, an AMS Broadcast Meteorologist at WKRN, reported that the Big Play Entertainment Center off Gallatin Pike in Hendersonville was damaged amid the tornado. National Weather Service issued tornado warnings for middle Tennessee, including a tornado watch for the Nashville area, effective until 7 p.m. CT on Saturday.

As of 5:54 p.m., Nashville International Airport implemented a ground stop until 6:30 p.m. due to high winds and ongoing storms. Damage reports indicate significant impact in Clarksville, Springfield, Hendersonville, Gallatin, Madison, and other areas.

An apparent tornado touched down in Montgomery County, causing extensive damage and injuries. Clarksville Police, Fire Rescue, and Montgomery County EMS responded to numerous locations. A shelter was set up at Northeast High School in Clarksville.

Tornado watches and warnings persisted, with high winds affecting various areas north of Nashville. Thousands were without power, and severe storms were anticipated, bringing large hail, damaging winds, and potential tornado formations, primarily south of the I-40 corridor.

Nashville Electric Service prepared for outages caused by strong winds. Severe weather, including thunderstorms, was expected in Davidson, Williamson, and Rutherford Counties between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m., emphasizing the need for residents to stay informed and have a safety plan in place.
