These%20include%20cessation%20of%20government%20funding%20for%20%u201Canti-China%u201D%20research%20at%20the%20Australian%20Strategic%20Policy%20Institute%2C%20raids%20on%20Chinese%20journalists%2C%20cancellation%20of%20visas%20to%20certain%20academics%2C%20%u201Cspearheading%20a%20crusade%u201D%20in%20multilateral%20forums%20on%20China%u2019s%20affairs%20in%20Taiwan%2C%20Hongkong%20and%20Xinjiang%2C%20calling%20for%20an%20independent%20investigation%20into%20the%20origin%20of%20Covid-19%2C%20banning%20Huawei%20from%20the%205G%20network%20in%202018%2C%20blocking%2010%20Chinese%20foreign%20investment%20deals%2C%20making%20allegations%20against%20China%20on%20cyberattacks%2C%20calling%20China%u2019s%20claims%20in%20South%20China%20sea%20as%20unlawful%20and%20others.

The%20demands%20made%20by%20China%20are%20not%20only%20extortionist%20but%20amount%20to%20dictating%20the%20domestic%20and%20foreign%20policies%20of%20a%20sovereign%20country%20tied%20in%20a%20security%20alliance%20with%20the%20USA.%20It%20also%20messages%20other%20countries%20in%20unambiguous%20terms%20that%20if%20they%20criticise%20Beijing%2C%20they%20should%20be%20ready%20to%20face%20China%u2019s%20punitive%20actions.%20China%20wants%20the%20weaker%20countries%20to%20kowtow%20to%20its%20interests%2C%20like%20in%20its%20former%20avatar%20as%20the%20%u2018Middle%20Kingdom%u2019%20about%203000%20years%20back.%20China%20has%20completely%20ignored%20the%20catalogue%20of%20Australia%u2019s%20complaints%20about%20its%20audacious%20interference%20in%20her%20internal%20affairs%20for%20long%20time.

Australia%20is%20not%20the%20only%20victim%20of%20China%u2019s%20hegemony%20and%20brazen%20assault.%20India%20has%20experienced%20even%20worst%20military%20aggression%20at%20the%20hands%20of%20Beijing%20in%20Ladakh%2C%20when%20China%2C%20dishonouring%20five%20bilaterally%20signed%20agreements%20for%20maintenance%20of%20peace%20and%20stability%20on%20the%20borders%2C%20deceptively%20launched%20a%20military%20onslaught%20in%20Ladakh%20in%20April%2C%202020%20illegally%20occupying%20some%20Indian%20territories%20in%20Pangong%20Tso%20and%20Depsang%20areas.
