Democratic convention: Michelle Obama slams Trump, says one cannot fake through presidency

The Democratic Party in the United States kicked-off an unprecedented political experiment an all-virtual national convention that nominates Joe Biden as their White House candidate, to battle Donald Trump in the heat of a deadly pandemic. In the overtly political keynote address, Michelle Obama lashed out at US President Donald Trump. She said that the President shows an ‘utter lack of empathy.’ The four-day jamboree was to be held in Milwaukee in a sign of eagerness to win back Wisconsin, one of a handful of Democratic strongholds which flipped to Trump in 2016. But, the deadly coronavirus pandemic upended all aspects of life including presidential campaigning and the convention now is occurring almost entirely online — as is the Republican event, which begins on August 24. Biden is campaigning to unify a nation ravaged by political and racial turmoil, voter suppression concerns and profound anxiety over the devastating coronavirus crisis.
