Democratic Party lists out its speakers for next weeks convention

The Democratic National Convention Committee announced its speakers for the next week’s convention that is scheduled to take place virtually from August 17 to 20, CNN reported. The making of the list took some time as the Democrats were forced to abandon the plans for an in-person event at Milwaukee due to coronavirus.

As per reports, Michelle Obama and Jill Biden will be key speakers for the first two nights followed by Joe Biden’s running mate and former President Barack Obama delivering their keynotes on Wednesday. Joe Biden is expected to accept the nomination on Thursday night from Delaware.

The speakers are expected to bring out the ideological framework of the Democratic party during the four-night event under the banner “Uniting America.” Bernie Sanders, the leader of the progressive wing of the Democratic Party is one of the main speakers lined up for Monday as broad support for Joe Biden. Former Gov. John Kasich, a 2016 Republican nominee for presidential elections, is also scheduled to speak on Monday.

Former President Bill Clinton is also expected to address the convention. An array of female leaders of Democratic Party such as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton are among the notable speakers for Wednesday.

Joe Biden is expected to reveal his running mate in one or two days.
