US vice-presidential candidate Kamala Harris wished all the ‘Hindu-Americans’ as the first day of the festival of Navratri sets foot on Saturday.

The California Senator, in a tweet on behalf of the Harris family, wished the people celebrating the festival. Kamala Harris, whose mother was from Chennai, is representing the Democratic Party alongside former vice-president Joe Biden in the US Presidential Elections 2020.

“@DouglasEmhoff and I wish our Hindu American friends and family, and all those celebrating, a very Happy Navratri! May this holiday serve as an inspiration to all of us to lift up our communities and build a more inclusive and just America,” Kamala Harris’ tweet read.

The vice-presidential candidate’s tweet was shortly followed by Joe Biden, who took to Twitter to wish an ushering of new beginning and opportunity for all. Biden is going head to head against US President Donald Trump in the November 3 elections.

“As the Hindu festival of Navratri begins, Jill and I send our best wishes to all those celebrating in the U.S. and around the world. May good once again triumph over evil — and usher in new beginnings and opportunity for all,” Biden wished.

Earlier, the duo had wished the Indian-Americans on Ganesh Chaturthi, hinting the same ‘new beginning’ in the message.

Joe Biden’s tweet that was eventually retweeted by his running mate said, “To everyone celebrating the Hindu festival of Ganesh Chaturthi in the US, India, and around the world, may you overcome all obstacles, be blessed with wisdom, and find a path toward new beginnings.”
