Donald Trump, former US President, has asked Russian President Vladimir Putin to reveal any compromising information he might have on Hunter, Joe Biden’s son.

The former Republican candidate has returned to his often-used argument against Biden in the 2020 presidential election. Real America’s Voice “Just the News” broadcast an interview excerpt, where Trump made claims that the wife of Moscow’s mayor gave $3.5 million to Hunter Biden.

He said, “That’s a lot of money. She gave him $3.5 million so now I would think Putin would know the answer to that. I think he should release it”, adding, “I think we should know that answer”.

Trump has been claiming for a long time that Hunter received funds from Elena Baturina, the wife of late Moscow mayor Yuri Luzhkov, to gain favour with the current President of the US. However, Trump has been unable to provide any evidence to support his claims.

In 2019, the House of Representatives impeached Trump for attempting to pressurize Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky to dig up dirt on Hunter, who’d worked at an energy company there, for some time.

Putin is currently under global scrutiny for launching the invasion of Ukraine on February 24. While the US has condemned his actions, Trump stood out, calling the president “savvy” and “genius” for his decision to send in troops as a peacekeeping force.

Trump has also insisted that Putin wouldn’t have invaded Ukraine if he’d been president, touting the relationship the two shared while Trump was in the White House.

Currently, Trump faces problems from the Jan 6 committee set up to investigate the Capitol Hill riots. Nearly eight hours of phone calls are missing from the logs obtained of that day. Trump is known to have communicated with Republican lawmakers while his supporters stormed the Capitol, believing the election had wrongly resulted in Biden becoming president.
