‘Donald Trump is an enemy of free speech,’ says his ex-campaign aide

Former campaign official of Donald Trump, Jessica Denson, on Wednesday said that the president’s team has been working against “free speech and democracy,” reported CNN.
Denson had worked as the Hispanic engagement director in Trump’s 2016 campaign. She told CNN that she saw his 2020 campaign “go out brandishing a Bible and an American flag and claiming that they have anything to do with freedom, but I’ve lived first-hand that they have nothing to do with freedom,” adding, “They have worked very much against free speech and democracy.”
Denson’s comments come following the release of an advertisement on Wednesday where she endorsed Joe Biden. In the video she termed Trump’s first run as “a vile, self-serving branding exercise for one man and his family.”
She said in the video, “Donald Trump always says ‘no censorship’ and pretends that all of the conservative media is being censored by the liberal. Let me tell you, he is absolutely an enemy of free speech.”
She added, “I have been pursued by his campaign for over three years for speaking my mind and the truth and exercising my First Amendment rights as an American citizen.”
Denson has filed several lawsuits against Trump’s campaign in an attempt to void the non-disclosure contracts that she claims are an infringement on her First Amendment rights.
Regarding her legal efforts, she said, “It was a direction from God. I did not feel like I could live with myself if I did not take action about what happened to me in the campaign.”
Denson further said, “I’m one of the few that has spoken out. Many, many, are deterred for the rest of their lives, Jake, from speaking a negative word, not only about Donald Trump, but about any one of his family members, his multiple businesses. Any one of these entities can enforce these agreements against people, and it’s fundamentally un-American.”
