Donald Trump makes Twitter comeback with Truth Social posts, banned
- Donald Trump was recently banned again on Twitter
- He returned to the platform in April to upload posts from Truth Social
- Trump's first ban was announced in 2021 following the Jan 6 violence
Former US President Donald Trump added yet another Twitter ban to his record, this time, for uploading posts from Truth Social on the microblogging platform.
Trump, who was banned from Twitter in 2021 for inciting January 6 violence, launched Truth Social, a new social media platform for his supporters, earlier this year.
A month ago, he decided to return to Twitter under the username ‘@PresTrumpTS’ to share posts that were directly extracted from Truth Social. However, his return was welcomed with a ban shortly after the account set foot in the platform’s territory.
“President Donald J. Trump’s Truth Social Posts on Twitter — Making sure President Trump is heard on Twitter while he and Devin Nunes focus on Truth Social,” read the description of the now-banned Twitter account.

According to a report by HuffPost, the handle contained 210 tweets that included “Please Follow & Retweet” in their content.
The account had remained active since April and aimed to subvert the 75-year-old’s ban from Twitter.
Trump‘s ban was announced in 2021 following the January 6 violence in the US Capitol. Twitter’s management had declared that his tweets encouraged his supporters to attack the Capitol.

The microblogging platform’s policy suggests that an account can be suspended if it tries to “circumvent a Twitter suspension, enforcement action, or anti-spam challenge. This includes any behaviour intended to evade any Twitter remediation, such as creating a new account or repurposing an already-existing account.”
It further adds that a banned user “can’t circumvent a Twitter suspension by operating, or having someone else operate on your behalf, an account which represents your identity, persona, brand or business persona for a different purpose.”
