Donald Trump took to his social media platform called Truth on Friday to reveal that he had advised Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, not to run against him in the Presidential Election 2024 when they had dinner at Mar-a-Lago on Tuesday.

The former president called Ye to have dinner with him at his Florida residence and he said that he was surprised to see the rapper “unexpectedly showing up with three of his friends.”

“We also discussed, to a lesser extent, politics, where I told him he should definitely not run for President, ‘any voters you may have should vote for TRUMP’,” the former president wrote. He also added that Ye “expressed no anti-Semitism,” alluding to the rapper’s Twitter rants in October which caused him to lose his fruitful deal with Addidas and be suspended from Twitter as well as Instagram. However, Ye is back on Twitter now, thanks to Elon Musk.

In another post on Truth, Trump said that West asked him “for advice concerning some of his difficulties, in particular having to do with his business.”

The Donda rapper said Trump reacted negatively when he expressed his desire to make a White House run at the dinner. “When Trump started basically screaming at me at the table telling me I was going to lose, I mean has that ever worked for anyone in history?” the rapper said in a video he tweeted on Thursday night.

In the video, he claimed that he had asked Trump to run as his vice president.  “I think the thing that Trump was most perturbed about [at the dinner] — me asking him to be my Vice President,” West told Milo Yiannopoulos, a right-leaning political activist.
