Fort Lauderdale airport evacuation being carried after bomb threat

Late on Sunday night, chaos ensued at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport as a reported bomb threat forced the evacuation of Terminal 1. Deputies from the Broward Sheriff’s Office Airport District responded promptly around 5:26 p.m. following the threat.

During the investigation, a man was detained for questioning, and as a precautionary measure, the upper level of Terminal 1 was cleared. The Broward Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad is currently on the scene, intensifying efforts to ensure the safety and security of the terminal.
