Fox News trolled after it calls Trump Aide Margo Martin as Melania Trump outside Miami Courthouse

Fox News was subject of trolling by public on social media after it called aide of Donald Trump Margo Martin as Melania Trump when she appeared outside Miami Courthouse during the former President’s arraignment.

Fox News host John Roberts played a clip of Martin beside one of Trump’s vehicles as the president’s motorcade approached the Miami courthouse where he entered a not guilty plea to 37 counts related to the secret materials controversy.

“There she is,” he said.

About 15 minutes after his first report, Roberts corrected the (frankly understandable) mistake.

“Apparently it was not Melania,” Roberts said on-air. “A day like today with so many comings and goings, it’s easy from a distance to mistake two people.” 

Melania actually stayed in New York City while Trump traveled to Florida for the court appearance, the Daily Mail reported.

Martin has worked for Trump since his days in the White House and was the press secretary to call the final lid on his presidency on January 19, 2021.

Meanwhile Trump critics took shots at the former president on Twitter. A Twitter user said, “OMG Fake Melania went in the courthouse!!! He had his stand-in for his wife show up. Now that’s pathetic. What kind of LOSER has a fake wife appear for cameras???”

Another person said, “Trump is such a loser he had a fake Melania show up to the Miami courthouse so people wouldn’t think his wife hates him too. This #TrumpArraignment is a bigger clown show than Jerry Springer.”

Another Twitter user said, “Fox News showed Melania* at the courthouse earlier, and for the first time, I found myself starting to believe the Melania body double conspiracies. Surprise twist: It was not Melania*”
