Hawaii police arrest suspect just hours after a stabbing incident

Police arrested a suspect on Tuesday, thus ending a massive manhunt, initiated in East Oahu area after a fatal stabbing of a 23-year-old man in Hawaii the same morning, US Media reports said.

Honolulu Emergency Medical Services personnel responded to a report of a stabbing at the intersection of Hahaione Street and Hawaii Kai Drive in the morning but the victim was pronounced dead at the spot, according to local media reports.

Honolulu police initiated a massive manhunt in Hahaione Valley and surrounding areas to nab the suspect even going to the extent of using a police helicopter in the search.

The suspect was caught less than three hours later, but no further details were immediately available.

Hahaione Elementary School went into lockdown due to the police investigation but was lifted in the afternoon, the Department of Education said.
