As voters in the United States stand in long queues to choose their leader, former president Barack Obama continued to support his vice-president Joe Biden on Tuesday. Biden is running for president this year as the Democratic candidate.

Taking to Twitter, Obama wrote, “For eight years, Joe was the last one in the room whenever I faced a big decision. He made me a better president. And today, we have the chance to elect Joe and Kamala to build our country back better.”

“But it’s going to take every single one of us,” he added.

During his last pitch for Biden in Pittsburg, Obama blasted Donald Trump and said that he is only focussed on feeding is own ego, and not on helping others.

“President Trump is focused on feeding his ego, while the Democratic presidential candidate Biden focused on decency and empathy,” the 44th US president said.

“He hasn’t shown any interest in doing the work or helping anybody but himself or his friends or treating the presidency as anything more than a reality show to give him the attention that he craves. But unfortunately, the rest of us have to live with the consequences,” he added.

Obama officially endorsed Biden in April, marking the Democratic establishment’s formal consolidation around the party’s presidential nominee.
