In pics: New York’s rush hour train turns into violent crime scene
New York City law enforcement was seen scrambling to the 36th Street Station in Brooklyn, responding to a violent attack inside a Manhattan-bound N train. The New York Police Department identified Frank James as a person of interest.
Videos shared on social media show people running out of the train as soon as the doors of the train opened, followed by a thick blanket of smoke. Alarms went off at the subway station.
The attack turned the morning commute into a scene of horror: a smoke-filled underground car, an onslaught of at least 33 bullets, screaming riders running through a station, bloodied people lying on the platform as others tended to them.
