- President Joe urged everyone to 'please get the vaccine'
US President Joe Biden on Sunday said all adults in the United States are eligible for getting vaccinated against COVID-19 and urged everyone to “please get the vaccine.”
In a video posted on his POTUS handle on Twitter, Biden gave the “good news” and said, “Everybody is eligible as of today to get the vaccine.”
“We have enough of it, you need to be protected, and you need in turn to protect your neighbours and your family,” he added.

Biden had earlier moved the deadline to April 19, giving all states the time to arrange for adequate doses of the vaccine as per requirement. The original deadline was May 1.
Massachusetts, Oregon and New Jersey were a few of the states making the vaccine available for every adult Monday, reported USA Today.
Dr Gregory Poland, the director of the Mayo Clinic’s Vaccine Research Group said, “People who have questions deserve to have those questions answered. That’s fair and that’s on us,” saying that it is natural for people to have doubts about the vaccine.

These concerns can be resolved through education, he added.
As per data released by the CDC, about 32% of adults have been fully vaccinated in the US and around 50% have received at least one dose. The country has 31.6 million confirmed COVID-19 cases and 567,000 deaths, according to data released by John Hopkins University.
