Kari Lake, GOP gubernatorial candidate, tells reporters ‘Im going to be your worst fricking nightmare’
- Kari Lake, the Republican candidate from Arizona, hit out at reporters at a press meet
- She said she will be the media's worst nightmare, if elected
- Her attack is a continuation of Republican candidates frequently taking on the media
After a CBS journalist asked Arizona Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake whether she will serve a full term if elected, she hit out at the media as a whole saying that she is going to be their “worst fricking nightmare”.
Questions on whether Lake will serve a full term came up amidst speculation that she has higher political ambition, i.e becoming the running mate to former president Donald Trump, if he makes a bid to the Oval Office again in 2024.

“Are you new covering this race? Because we have talked about this before,” Lake said to the reporter. “I’ve answered this question. I am going to not only be the governor of Arizona for four years, I’m going to do two terms,” she added.
“I’m going to be your worst fricking nightmare for eight years, and we will reform the media as well. We are going to make you guys into journalists again, so get ready. It’s gonna be a fun eight years; I can’t wait to be working with you.”
Attacking the media has been one of Lake’s primary agendas, throughout her political career. A former news anchor, Lake has often grilled the media and continues the trend as she makes a bid for Arizona’s top executive office.

Lake started as an intern at KWQC-TV and rose up the ranks to become a production assistant. She then joined WHBF-TV as a daily reported in 1992. However, she is best known for being the news anchor of Phoenix TV for 22 years. She rose to fame after interviewing former president Barrack Obama during the 2016 elections when he was incumbent.
Along with Lake, former president Donald Trump has also hit out at the media in repeated insinuations. Trump has called CNN “fake news” and labelled the mainstream media “lamestream media.”
