Livingstone College shooting: Two people shot, others injured while fleeing

The Salisbury Police Department reports that there have been many injuries and two people were shot at in Livingstone College.
According to police, they were called to reports of an active shooter on campus at around 11 pm.

Police reported finding two people who had been shot at the scene, along with numerous more who had been hurt while attempting to flee the incident.
At the college’s entrance, a single gunshot injury was reported as emergency responders arrived. A second shooting victim was receiving medical attention near the pavilion.
Other people who reported a leg injury, respiratory issues, or a seizure during the incident were also treated by medical professionals who were called to the scene.

There may have been a fight that resulted in the gunshot, witnesses told Channel 9.
This weekend is Homecoming Weekend at Livingstone College, which played Fayetteville State in football earlier Saturday.

There is currently no active threat to the campus community, according to the police.

This college is a private, historically black Christian college in Salisbury, North Carolina. The African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church is one of its affiliates.
The Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools has accredited Livingstone College to grant bachelor’s degrees in social work, science, fine arts, and the humanities.
Its campus is located on W. Monroe St. and built across a land spanning 272 acres.
