Actor Chadwick Boseman, well known for his reprisal of Wakandian King T’Challa in the movie Black Panther, died on Friday. Boseman, who was 43, died after a four-year-long battle with colon cancer.

Since Boseman’s demise, excerpts from a 2017 interview, where the actor hinted about his illness, have come to light. The interview was conducted by HuffPost journalist Matt Jacob, who shared the excerpt on his Twitter account.

In the interview, the journalist talks about Boseman’s rigorous schedule. Jacob asked the Black Panther actor on whether he had bulked up and then slimmed down and had gained weight again, to which Boseman said yes. The interviewer then added, “You’ve been through the wringer.”

Boseman’s reply to this statement has been highlighted by the journalist and fans of the star alike. In his reply, Boseman states “Oh, you don’t even know(laughs). You have no idea. One day I’ll live to tell the story.”

The actor was diagnosed with stage three colon cancer in 2016. He battled with the disease for four years and as it progressed to stage four, he acted in several films.

Boseman underwent countless surgeries and chemotherapy during the period while keeping up with a rigorous filming schedule.

The actor’s demise was condoled by actors from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Brie Larson. 

Zoe Saldana called Boseman a “King” and called the demise beyond painful.

Don Cheadle stated “I will miss you brother. You are always light and love to me.”

Mark Ruffalo tweeted about Boseman’s demise, saying the death was a profound loss. He added “What a man, and what an immense talent. Brother, you were one the all-time greats, and your greatness was only beginning.”
