After ploughing his vehicle into a Beverly Hills residence earlier this year, Pete Davidson has been formally charged with reckless driving.

About three months after the collision, the former “SNL” cast member was charged by the L.A. County District Attorney’s Office with one count of careless driving.

Around 11 o’clock on March 4, Pete and his girlfriend Chase Sui Wonders were involved in a collision. Pete allegedly lost control of his Mercedes while driving quickly through a residential street and crashed into the house.

Although it’s unclear how Pete lost control, individuals close to the situation claim that he leapt the curb, destroyed a fire hydrant, and then struck the side of the home. Thankfully, nobody was wounded.

Police at the time didn’t think drinking or drugs were a factor in the collision. Pete was also not detained.

The owner of the building Pete damaged claimed that his 16-year-old daughter was “a bit” traumatised by the close call. He did say, though, that he has no quarrel with Pete and had no plans to sue the comedian.

Fortunately, no one was critically hurt in the crash, according to a DA’s office representative. “We are aware that careless driving can have disastrous effects. The number of traffic deaths in Los Angeles has risen to its highest level in 20 years in 2022. We must not overlook this worrying trend. It’s essential that we investigate all claims of reckless driving seriously and hold individuals accountable”, he added.

Regarding potential penalties, it can result in up to 90 days in jail, a $1,000 fine, and the suspension of driver’s license.
