President-elect Joe Biden discusses top priorities for first 100 days

President-elect Joe Biden said that tackling coronavirus, working on immigration legislation and action against climate change are his priorities in the first 100 days after taking charge.

“There’s multiple things that are going to be taking place at the same time,” CNN quoted Biden saying in a recent interview with NBC.

“But the most important thing, I think, is to focus on those folks, who are always, when crisis hits, are the first ones hit, and recovery comes to last, he added.

Biden opined that healthcare workers and first responders should be the first to receive the awaited COVID-19 vaccine.

Asked about whether he considered nominating a Republican for his administration, the 78-year-old former vice president said that he would consider appointing Republicans who voted for President Donald Trump to his cabinet.

“Yes. And we still have a lot more appointments to make. I want this country to be united. The purpose of our administration is once again uniting. We can’t keep this virulent political dialogue going. It has to end,” Biden said.

The President-elect once again said that he would not direct his Department of Justice to investigate Trump.  

Biden is all set to deliver a ‘Thanksgiving address’ on November 25 from Wilmington, Delaware, which will be live-streamed. He will  “discuss the shared sacrifices Americans are making this holiday season”, according to the official release by his transition team.
