3 injured in shooting outside Houston convenience store

A drive-by shooting on early Wednesday morning, October 12, in southwest Houston resulted in three people being injured, the Houston Police Department confirmed.

The shooting incident took place at around 1 am local time in front of a convenience store in southwest Houston, which is located at the 12500 block of Hillcroft Street. The location is also near the intersection of Hillcroft Street and South Main Street.

According to the authorities, the vehicle which was used in the shooting was driving past the convenience store on Wednesday morning when the driver opened fire on people who were standing outside it.

The vehicle drove away after the shooting which resulted in three people being injured. All victims were transported to nearby hospitals and were in stable condition, authorities revealed. The police have opened an investigation into the shooting, however, the motive behind the crime remains unknown.

Detectives from the Houston Police Department are currently combing through the CCTV footage in search of the suspect and any other additional information connected with the crime. The police are yet to announce any additional information regarding the shooting incident.

The Houston Police Department has urged residents with relevant information about the crime to contact their Major Assaults Division or the Crime Stoppers immediately.

This is not the first time drive-by shooting incidents have taken place in Houston, as a 15-year-old teenager was shot and killed in a similar incident on August 15 in the northeast part of the city.

The authorities said that the shooting took place at around 5:20 pm on August 15 at the 2900 block of Brewster Street near Liberty and resulted in the death of the teenager.

The teenage victim was shot in a drive-by on a driveway and police found him unresponsive after reaching the crime scene. The 15-year-old victim was rushed to the Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
