Three teenagers were injured in a shooting outside Carver Vocational Technical High School in West Baltimore on Friday morning. The incident occurred near the intersection of Presstman and North Bentalou streets around 7:50 a.m. Police responded swiftly to the call and began providing medical assistance to the injured while searching for the shooter.

The shooting took place in the plaza leading to the school’s front door. Acting Deputy Police Commissioner Kevin Jones confirmed that two teenage students were transported to the hospital, while a third teenager sought medical attention independently. All three victims, aged 15 and 16, are in non-life-threatening condition.

The motive for the shooting remains unclear, and police are investigating. Surveillance and school system cameras along Presstman Street are being examined as part of the investigation. The shooter reportedly fled east on Presstman Street. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the police.

In response to the incident, Baltimore City Public Schools issued a statement, assuring parents that students were safe inside the school and advising parents not to go to the school at that time.

The school was briefly placed on lockdown, which continued through the 9 a.m. hour. Students were eventually dismissed at 10:30 a.m., with all after-school activities canceled and the school’s football game postponed. City officials, including Mayor Brandon Scott, expressed their concern and pledged support to the Carver community in the wake of the shooting. City leaders and officials also emphasized the importance of ensuring the safety of students traveling to and from school without fear of violence.
