Navalny, who is a known fierce critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin, has been on a hunger strike since the end of March after Russian prison authorities reportedly denied medical treatment for his leg and back pain.

The 44-year-old is on the edge of facing severe medical issues such as a possible cardiac arrest and a kidney failure.

Anastasia Vasilyeva, who is Navalny’s personal doctor explained his health condition on Facebook and wrote, “Our patient can die any minute” while further emphasising that a “fatal arrhythmia can develop any minute”, reported AFP.
