Tulsa hospital campus shooting: At least 3 people killed, shooter dead

At least three people were killed after a gunman entered the St. Francis Hospital campus in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Wednesday and opened fire. The shooter “is down,” police said. 

Police responded to Natalie Medical Building at St. Francis Health System on Wednesday after receiving reports of a man armed with a rifle. It soon turned into an active shooter situation. 

Tulsa police Capt. Richard Meulenberg said the suspect “is down.” It was unclear if he was shot by police. 

“At this point, we can confirm the shooter is down at this time. Officers are currently going through every room in the building checking for additional threats. We know there are multiple injuries, and potentially multiple casualties,” Tulsa Police Department said in a Facebook post.

St. Francis Health Campus locked down its campus because of the shooting incident at the Natalie Medical Building, which houses an outpatient surgery center and a breast health center.

ATF Dallas Field Division said that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives was at the scene of the shooting.

“Tulsa office personnel are on scene at St. Francis Hospital to provide assistance in the active shooter incident. Tulsa Police Department is the point of contact and will release more information as it becomes available,” ATF Dallas said.
