US agency contradicts Donald Trump’s prediction of ‘most corrupt’ election

Contradicting President Donald Trump’s month-old claim that this year the US elections would be the “most corrupt” in American history, the head of a government agency, warned that “bad guys, whoever they are,” trying to “sow chaos, sow doubt”. 

The director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, Christopher Krebs expressed his “confidence” in secure voting and integrity of the US election. 

“I have confidence that your vote is secure, that state and local election officials across this country are working day in and day out, 24/7, that the 2020 election is as secure as possible,” Krebs saidz Associated Press quoted.

CISA, which will be monitoring the election amid the COVID-19 pandemic, haa been putting out counter narrative to safeguard the election. The election day monitoring will be more difficult this time as the US President has said that he would not respect of results if he loses

Without mentioning Trump’s constant questioning of mail-in ballot, Krebs earned American voters to “be prepared for efforts that call into question the legitimacy of the election”. 

With tens of millions of votes already cast, Krebs and Ken Cuccinelli, the acting deputy secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, said that there has been no sign of any foreign interference, unlike 2016, Associated Press reported. However, there are still attempts to disrupt the US election.
