In what sounded like a victory speech, President Donald Trump said “they can’t catch us” while listing the major states Republicans had won with handsome margins. His speech came within minutes of his Democratic opponent Joe Biden urged his followers “to keep the faith.”
‘They can’t catch us… we had such a big night”, an unusually subdued Trump said in his address outside the White House. Expressing confidence in his victory, the President said, “We won it by a lot.”
“The results tonight have been phenomenal,” he added.

During the address, while he was listing down his leads in several states including Georgia, North Carolina, Trump said, “All of a sudden everything just stopped. This is fraud on the American public this is an embarrassment to our country.”
The 74-year-old Republican said, “We were going to win this election, frankly, we did win this election. So our goal now is to ensure integrity for the good of this nation this is a very big moment. This is a major fraud in our nation.”
The US President further said that he will go to the Supreme Court to dispute the election count. Trump said he would go to court and “we want all voting to stop.”
He appeared to mean stopping the counting of mail-in ballots which can be legally accepted by state election boards after Tuesday’s election, provided they were sent in time, AFP reported.
Vice-President Mike Pence also thanked voters for their support and said, “We are on the road to victory and we will make America great again.”

Earlier, former vice president Biden in his brief appearance in Pennsylvania told his supporters, “Your patience is commendable, we knew this was going long… we feel good about where we are, we believe we are on track to win this election.”
Joe Biden is marginally ahead in the electoral college with 225 votes against Trump’s 213. The winner needs to win at least 270 votes in a college of 538.
