Police officials have identified the suspect in the horrific Edina stabbing that claimed the life of Christian Hans Lundegaard. The man has been identified as Adam Garcia.

The authorities have identified the victim and the suspect in Wednesday’s deadly stabbing in Edina. Richfield resident Christian Hans Lundegaard, 62, is the victim. According to a news release from the Hennepin County Medical Examiner, Lundegaard died from multiple stab wounds.

Who is Adam Garcia?

Adam Garcia is 32 years old. He is from  St. Paul. Although formal charges have not yet been brought against Garcia, he is currently being held at the Hennepin County Jail on a probable cause of murder conviction.

The man who was fatally stabbed at an Edina bus stop on Wednesday night in what authorities described as a random and quickly intensifying encounter was named by officials on Friday. Christian Hans Lundegaard was the victim. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that he passed away tragically at around 7 p.m. in the 6700 block of York Avenue S.

When Edina police arrived at the scene, they found Lundegaard at the bus stop next to Cub Foods critically injured. Even though he was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) very quickly, he was declared deceased not long after.

According to court documents, the Edina bus stop-stabbing suspect has a history of convictions for a number of different crimes, including theft, trespassing, burglary, and property damage. In addition, the records show that his mental illness and chemical dependency have resulted in two civil commitments in recent years.

The suspect faces charges of gross misdemeanor trespassing and other related offenses; he is expected to appear in Hennepin County District Court on Monday. These accusations are related to an incident that occurred on February 1 at 4:40 a.m. when he allegedly went through a door in the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport’s baggage area.
