Merced County citizens are still reeling from the shocking loss of four lives in a kidnap-murder case that saw resulted in the death of four members of an Indian-American family. The chief suspect in the case, Jesus Manuel Salgado, was arrested by the police just after he attempted to kill himself. On Friday, his brother, Alberto Salgado was also apprehended by the police.
Alberto has been charged with helping his brother destroy evidence, being an accessory to a crime, and being involved in a conspiracy. Jesus Manuel Salgado, 48, had earlier served an eight-year sentence for robbing a family for whom he worked.
Who is Alberto Salgado?
Alberto Salgado is the younger brother of Jesus Manuel Salgado, the chief accused in the kidnap and eventual murder of four members of the same family. The incident occurred in California’s Merced County.

Just like his brother, Salgado, 41, has been booked in the Merced County Jail. No information has surfaced yet about either of the brothers having a legal representative in this case. After arresting Alberto, the Merced County Sheriff’s Office released a statement on Facebook: “Yesterday evening, the Merced County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of the California Department of Justice, arrested and booked Alberto Salgado into the Merced County Jail. Alberto Salgado is the brother of Jesus Manuel Salgado who is suspected of kidnapping and murdering Aroohi Dheri, Jasleen Kaur, Jasdeep Singh, and Amandeep Singh. Alberto Salgado was arrested for criminal conspiracy, accessory, and destroying evidence.”
The relatives of Jesus Manuel were the ones who contacted law enforcement officials to inform them that he had admitted to them his involvement in the crime that led to the death of four individuals, including an eight-month-old infant, Aroohi.

These victims’ bodies were recovered from an almond orchard in San Joaquin Valley, which is considered the heartland of California’s agricultural industry.
The police are yet to determine whether Alberto Salgado was himself directly involved in the murders or kidnapping of the aforementioned family.
