Republican Asa Hutchinson was re-elected as the 46th governor of Arkansas in 2019.
He is the Vice-Chair of the National Governors Association and was the former chairman of the Southern States Energy Board (SSEB), the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission (IOGCC), and the Southern Regional Education Board.
Asa was the former co-chair of the Council of Governors, as stated on the official website of the Governor of Arkansas.
A graduate of the University of Arkansas law school, Hutchinson has four children with his wife Susan Hutchinson. They have been married for the past 47 years.

Governor Hutchinson was appointed as the Attorney for the Western District of Arkansas by former President Ronald Reagan. He won his first term in the House of Representatives in 1996 and won two more consecutive terms.

In his third term, he was first appointed as the director of the Drug Enforcement Administration and later the undersecretary of the Department of Homeland Security by President George W. Bush.
He is known for signing a law that exempts the retirement pay of veterans from state income tax and cut taxes by $150 million. He is also recognized as a leader in computer science education.
