North Korea, believed to be one of the most isolated and secretive countries in the world, has picked out an official to fill in the position of the second-in-command and work under Kim Jong Un, the current leader of North Korea, according to US media reports.

However, the identity of the person filling in for the role remains unclear, reported CNN.

While it is difficult to determine who has been picked, experts believe that two names are likely to be on the top of the list. These include Kim Tok Hun and Jo Yong Won, who are noted as the most influential and powerful people in the country.

Jo Yong Won is considered to be one of the most trusted officials in North Korea and Kim Jong Un’s closest aid. He also serves as the secretary of the Worker’s Party of Korea.

On the other hand, Kim Tok Hun serves as the North Korean government’s premier. The position also entails being a key advisor the Kim Jong Un.

A third potential contender for the position could have been Kim Yo Jong, yet another powerful figure in the country and the only person on the list related to the country’s supreme commander. She is the sister of Kim Jong Un.

However, CNN reported citing analysts, that members of the Politburo Standing Committee would be eligible for the position, which would, in turn, put Kim Yo Jong’s candidacy under question.
