A MAGA protester carrying a real pig’s head on a stick turned up outside the Miami federal court where former President Donald Trump is expected to be arraigned on Tuesday.
He was branded ‘Lord of Flies’ by social media users, which was a reference to the scene from the biblical book, Lord of the Flies by William Golding. In the scene, during which Simon gets an epileptic fit and imagines that a pig’s head on the stick talking to him.
The use of the pig’s head on a stick, known as the “Lord of the Flies” in the novel, represents the embodiment of evil and the inherent savagery that can emerge when civilization erodes.
