Republican Congressman Ryan Zinke’s recent introduction of the Safeguarding Americans from Extremism Act has sparked controversy, with the bill aiming to prevent Palestinians from entering the United States and potentially expel those already present.

If passed, the bill would mandate the Department of Homeland Security to cease granting visas, asylum, and refuge to individuals holding a Palestinian Authority-issued passport. It would also authorize the revocation of entry permits for individuals who arrived in the country after October 1.
