According to Police Chief Michael Lorenz, Villasenor was fixated on school shootings and had conducted research on tactical supplies and police response times. He reportedly intended to carry out the attack at Ontario Christian High School and was in the process of selecting a date for his plan. Investigators found an arsenal of weapons at Villasenor’s home, including seven rifles, two revolvers, a handgun, and a shotgun, along with over 1,000 rounds of ammunition.

Despite having no criminal record, Villasenor’s fixation on school shootings and difficulties in forming relationships with peers raised concerns. Authorities believe he may have been planning the attack around April 20, the anniversary of the Columbine High School shooting in 1999.

A fellow student alerted school officials about Villasenor’s behavior, leading to his arrest. Principal Ben Dykhouse expressed gratitude for the student’s vigilance and swift action. While Villasenor had no prior disciplinary record at Ontario Christian High School, authorities emphasize the seriousness of active shooter threats and urge community members to report any suspicious behavior.

The swift response of law enforcement and the bravery of the student who came forward likely prevented a tragedy. Villasenor is scheduled for arraignment on February 15, and authorities continue to investigate the case. As the community grapples with the shocking revelation, efforts to ensure school safety and support mental health resources remain crucial.
