The man who killed two people before turning the gun on himself in the parking lot of a hotel in Annapolis, Maryland, has been identified as 42-year-old George Edward Huff.

Who was George Edward Huff?

George Edward Huff, from Riva, shot his wife, identified as 34-year-old Alexandra Abbott Huff, and another man, identified as 38-year-old George Michael Petrullo, in a parking lot near a Holiday Inn Express & Suites. The “targeted” shooting took place around 2 pm on Friday.

While Alexandra died at the scene, Petrullo managed to drive a distance to the AllTackle.com shop. The workers called 911 following which he was rushed to a local hospital in an ambulance. He was declared dead at the hospital. Petrullo’s relationship with the couple was not known.

Meanwhile, George Edward Huff died after turning the gun on himself in the parking lot.

Speaking to Capital Gazette, Ira Winkler, a witness, said she saw a middle-aged man firing shots at a white Acura in the parking lot. After the driver managed to drive out of the parking lot, the middle-aged man wandered around for a few minutes before turning the gun on himself.

She told CBS News that the gunman “emptied out a whole clip” during the shooting.

The motive behind the shooting was being investigated.

Anne Arundel County Police Department spokeswoman Jacklyn Davis told CBS News, “There’s going to be a lot of questions about relationships and things like that that we do not have the answer to.”
