Hispanic suspect Francisco Oropeza, who shot his neighbors after a little argument, left the scene and is still being sought by police. As was previously mentioned, Oropeza was shooting an assault rifle in the form of an AR-15 on his front porch for entertainment when a neighbor urged him to put down the gun because it would wake the baby in their home.

Oropeza, who was reportedly intoxicated at the time, retaliated angrily by telling the neighbor that it was his property before going to the neighbor’s front door and shooting five persons inside the residence, among them an 8-year-old boy. Then the suspect escaped the area.

Ten people were residing in the house at the time of the incident, according to Sheriff Greg Capers’ statement to Eyewitness News. According to Capers, the police were initially called to a report of harassment at a house when they received a call that an active shooter was present.

Francisco Oropeza’s whereabouts had been traced to a wooded area 1.2 miles west of the homicide scene, according to Capers on Saturday, but as of late Sunday, the suspect was still regarded as a wanted fugitive.
