‘Game of Thrones’ star Diana Rigg dies at 82

Actor Diana Rigg died at the age of 82 on Thursday, news agency AFP reported her agent as saying. Rigg is best known for her role as Lady Olenna Tyrell in HBO’s hit series ‘Game of Thrones’.
“It is with tremendous sadness that we announce that Dame Diana Rigg died peacefully early this morning,” Simon Beresford said in a statement.
“She was at home with her family who have asked for privacy at this difficult time,” he added, calling her “an icon of theatre, film and television”.
Rigg rose to prominence in the 1960s through the role of Emma Peel in television show ‘The Avengers’.
She is also known for her role as Tracy in the 1969 James Bond movie ‘On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.’ She is the only woman in the series to have held the title of Mrs James Bond.
