Arlington Manor, Jacksonville shooting: 1 dead after arguement on Justina Road

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said that an arguement between a pedestrian and a driver ended in gunfire on Saturday afternoon on Justina Road in the Arlington Manor neighborhood.
One person has died following the incident.

As per the sheriff’s office, patrol officers responded to the 2900 block of Justina Rd. in reference to a person shot. On arrival, they found a male adult with gunshot wounds in the roadway.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s office reported that a verbal exchange, arguement, between the victim, a pedestrian, and a driver took place before shots were fired. As per JSO, the driver of the vehicle then remained on the scene for police, and he is being interviewed by Homicide Detectives and will make a decision on charges.

JFRD responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The shooting is reported as an isolated incident.

Meanwhile, authorities have issued an alert asking those near Pine Island to shelter in place. It is due to a ‘police event’ in southeastern Pine Island.

Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office did not provide details on why the shelter in place was called. However, over a call with KTTC television station, a deputy said that they were still working to figure out the situation Saturday afternoon.
A police vehicle could be seen outside a home on 1st Avenue SE. Several officers were in tactical gear.
