Cristiano Ronaldo becomes first person to reach 500 million followers on Instagram

The star of Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo, is the first individual to achieve 500 million Instagram followers.

The well-known Portuguese footballer was the first prominent individual to gain a sizable following on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. 

The superstar is currently being followed by more than 10% of the global population. A recent image that Ronaldo posted with Argentine footballer Messi went viral on Instagram.

The two best football players in the world today are Ronaldo and Messi. They seldom ever show up together. They are on different clubs in different leagues.

Ronaldo receives $2.3 for each sponsored post on Instagram. The seventeenth-ranked sports celebrity, Virat Kohli and former Indian cricket team captain charges $1.7 million for each post.

Ronaldo, a five-time FIFA player of the year, became the first active team athlete to achieve $1 billion in lifetime earnings in 2020.

Ronaldo surpasses Messi in terms of total goals scored in football records. The Portuguese striker has more than 800 goals to his credit for club and country. He is recognised as the country’s top goal scorer, male or female, with more than 110 goals. In addition, he has over 700 goals for the clubs he has played for.

In 2022, Cristiano Ronaldo scored one goal on the international stage and one in eight games for Manchester United.

Ronaldo has twice been listed on Forbes’ list as the highest-paid athlete in the world, first in 2016 and then again in 2017.
