Dallas air show crash: Where is Dallas Executive Airport?

The Federal Aviation Administration said that a Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress and a Bell P-63 Kingcobra collided and crashed at the Wings Over Dallas airshow on Saturday at about 1:20 pm.
“At this time, it is unknown how many people were on both aircraft,” an FAA statement read.

According to Jason Evans with Dallas Fire-Rescue, authorities responded to the incident at Dallas Executive Airport on Saturday.
The agency’s active occurrences page indicates that there are currently more than 40 fire rescue units on the scene.
The crash will be looked at by the National Transportation Safety Board and the FAA. The NTSB will be in charge and is anticipated to give more information.
According to the organizer’s website, the event has been postponed from today until Sunday.

Dallas Executive Airport, originally Redbird Airport, is located in Dallas County, Texas, in the United States, six miles (10 kilometres) southwest of Downtown Dallas. The airport serves as a backup airfield for Dallas Love Field and is utilised for general aviation. Its address is 5303 Challenger Drive, Number 17, Dallas, Texas, United States.
The Commemorative Air Force declared in 2013 that they would construct a National Airbase at Executive that would house both their main museum and headquarters, which would be relocated from Midland.

The Commemorative Air Force set up shop at the airport in 2016, and as of right now, they have a hangar on the southeast side of the airfield as their base of operations. Dallas Executive Airport serves as the base of operations for the Dallas Police Department’s helicopter(s).
Numerous improvements to the current runway were made throughout 2017, and additional work is being done in 2018 to extend runway 13/31 and relocate the safety zones and protection zones onto the airport.
