French Prez Macron’s lost bet results in heavy metal concert at his residence

French President Emmanuel Macron‘s residence was turned into a venue for a heavy metal show attended by huge crowds, although in a virtual format. The private gig was included in a YouTube video posted by two french comedians, according to media reports.

The show was a part of a bet made between Macron and McFly-Carlito, the french comedians followed by 6.5 million YouTube users. The bet revolved around a previously posted video conditioned with it amassing more than 10 million views.

The bet, which was made in February, included a video raising awareness about the importance of social distancing in the COVID-19 pandemic. Macron promised an invitation to the comedians to the Elysee gardens, reported Reuters.

A 36-minute video of the heavy metal show was shot by the YouTubers and gained more than 2.7 million views within hours after being uploaded on Sunday.

The recent video included a conversation between Macron and the comedians followed by a performance from ‘Ultra Vomit’. A french lullaby called ‘Une souris verte’ (A Green Mouse) was played by the band, however, with a heavy metal twist, reported Reuters.

According to a poll released by ‘Journal du Dimanche’, the French President’s ratings hiked by eight points in the 18-24 age category in the last month, reported Reuters.
