An earthquake with a 5.9 magnitude struck near Australia’s second largest city Melbourne on Wednesday morning, causing damage to buildings and sending tremors throughout neighbouring cities. People living in the northern parts of the city reportedly lost power for several hours. The quake’s epicentre was near the rural town of Mansfield in the state of Victoria, about 200 km (124 miles) northeast of Melbourne.
