In Pics: Tom Brady makes history as Tampa Bay Buccaneers win Super Bowl
Tom Brady made history on Monday by winning a record seventh Super Bowl as Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat Kansas City Chiefs 31-9 at Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium.
The oldest man to play in the Super Bowl, Brady finished with three touchdowns, 21 from 29 completions and no interceptions as Buccaneers won their second Super Bowl to conclude a season played under the shadow of the coronavirus pandemic.
Chiefs failed to become the first team after New England Patriots to win back to back Super Bowls. Patrick Mahomes, who is considered by many as Brady’s successor, failed to breach a relentless Buccaneers defense.
Prior to the kick-off, Eric Church and Jazmine Sullivan sang the national anthem before the kick-off, with H.E.R. performing “America the Beautiful.” The half-time saw The Weeknd perform a medley of his greatest hits in a solo performance.
