Italian Mafia murdered woman and fed her to pigs: reports

In 2016, a woman from the Calabria region in Italy was reportedly murdered and fed to pigs after she declined giving up her land to her neighbour who had relations with the mafia.
Maria Chindamo, who went missing from her farm on May 6, 2016, is one of the many people who have vanished from the region without a trace, AFP reported.

According to the information available on the region’s news website, Antonio Cossidente identified the murder as the work of ‘Ndrangheta mafia.’ Antonio Cossidente used to be a member of the mafia and now closely works with the authorities of the region.
Cossidente said a fellow ex-member of the ‘Ndrangheta mafia’, Emanuele Mancuso, gave him the information and said that the woman was fed to pigs.

The woman was reported missing one year after her husband allegedly killed himself, which further complicated the investigation, reported AFP.
Special anti-mafia police is currently investigating the allegations made by Antonio Cossidente and Emanuele Mancuso.
