Jesse Lingard meets Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick ahead of transfer deadline

Jesse Lingard has met Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick as his future at
Old Trafford remains uncertain.

The
England international has been in target of the likes of West Ham, Tottenham
Hotspurs and Newcastle United. As he continues to be rested, a frustrated
Lingard and his brother, who vented his anger on social media, expressed
displeasure with the Manchester United team management.
Lingard’s
12 months loan spell at West Ham is just a few months away from expiring.
Amid this situation, Lingard himself has held talks with interim boss Rangnick
as he seeks a solution to his current situation.

Lingard’s
one and only start under Rangnick came more than a month ago, in the Champions
League group stage draw with Young Boys.
His
involvement since then amounts to just five minutes across two substitute
appearances, against Aston Villa in the Premier League and FA Cup.

The
interim manager continues to describe him as “a really good player,”
albeit one who faces stiff competition for a starting spot. However, with time
running out, the player and the manager have had words.
Newcastle interested in Lingard
Meanwhile,
Newcastle United remain hopeful of finalising a deal for Lingard by Monday’s transfer deadline.

According
to 90min, Lingard has agreed on terms with Newcastle on a move that will see
him playing for the club till the end of the season.
It
is learned that Manchester United’s demands were too much for Newcastle. Talks
then broke down between the two clubs, but United are still looking to move
Lingard on in what is turning out to be a busy week of outgoings. Anthony
Martial has joined Sevilla on loan, Amad Diallo has gone to Rangers and Donny
van de Beek is on the cusp of joining Everton on loan.

Newcastle
have brought in Kieran Trippier and Chris Wood to date, while deals for Bruno
Guimaraes and Dan Burn are imminent.
