Several feared dead after explosions rock schools in Kabul

Several people are feared dead after multiple explosions rocked schools in western Kabul on Tuesday, CNN reported. 

“Three different explosions at Abdul Rahim Shaheed High School in the 18th District have caused casualties to our Shia compatriots and we will share the details later,” Khalid Zadran, a spokesman for the chief of Kabul police, tweeted.

The explosions reportedly took place in the Dasht-i-Barchi area of the city. The area is home to a large Shia Hazara community, a minority group that was previously targeted by extremists.

The blasts reportedly occurred in rapid succession and hurt several children and more casualties were feared, according to Kabul police spokesman Khalid Zadran and the city’s Emergency Hospital.

No one has immediately claimed responsibility.
