Old Lady reunites with ex Allegri after Serie A heartbreak

Former Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri’s re-appointment as manager was confirmed on Friday, hours after the club relieved Andrea Pirlo from the position. In an official statement, Juventus welcomed Allegri.

“Welcome back home, Max!” the club said in a tweet to announce the re-appointment of Allegri. The Italian manager had won five Serie A titles with the Turin-based club between 2014 and 2019.

Pirlo was given his first-time coaching stint by Juventus last year. The club finished fourth in Serie A this year, barely qualifying for the Champions League.

Along with the five Serie A titles, Allegri also guided the team to four Coppa Italia titles. Juventus finished as Champions League runners-up twice under Allegri.
