MobiKwik on Monday has denied allegations that 8.2 terabytes of user data has been hacked. French white hacker and security researcher Elliot Anderson took to Twitter to allege that the sensitive data of MobiKwik users has surfaced on the dark web and went on to call it the “largest KYC data leak in the history.”

MobiKwik issued a statement denying the allegations.

“Some media-crazed so-called security researchers have repeatedly attempted to present concocted files wasting precious time of our organization as well as members of the media. We thoroughly investigated and did not find any security lapses. Our user and company data is completely safe and secure,” the Gurugram-based company said, TechNadu reported.

Earlier this month, Indian cybersecurity researcher Rajshekhar Rajaharia had also spotted the leak and said that the hacker was willing to sell the entire chunk of user KYC details for 1.5 bitcoins that amounts to around $84,000.

Rajaharia also said that the seller had set up a portal wherein one can look up a phone number or email id and get the specific results.
