Pat Cummins’ participation in the second Ashes Test is doubtful after the Australia captain was identified as a close contact of a COVID positive case, a source told The Sydney Herald. The report comes hours before the Aussies lock horns with Joe Root’s England in a day/night contest at the Adelaide Oval.

Cummins was at an Adelaide restaurant on Wednesday with another professional cricketer when a person at the next table was identified as a positive COVID-19 case, The Sydney Herald’s source claimed. Hence it is unclear if the bowler will be able to play the second Test.
